Sriti shoudho
Sriti Shoudho, also known as Shaheed Minar, is a national monument in Bangladesh located in Dhaka, the capital city. It stands as a symbol of the language movement and commemorates the sacrifices made during the Bengali Language Movement of 1952.
The monument, designed by Hamidur Rahman, consists of a slender tower with a platform and is adorned with intricate architectural details. It stands tall as a tribute to the individuals who fought and died for the recognition of the Bengali language as one of the official languages of Pakistan.
Every year, on February 21st, people gather at the Sriti Shoudho to pay homage to the language martyrs and celebrate International Mother Language Day. The monument serves as a reminder of the importance of linguistic diversity, cultural heritage, and the pursuit of linguistic rights and equality.
